Meet Miss Carol

Hi, I’m Carol Egan, Principal at Celtic Star.

I inherited my passion and love for teaching Irish dance from my Mom and Aunt who have run leading Irish dance schools in Ireland over the last 40 years.

My first steps were on my tippy toes and I went on to win several All Ireland, World and British solo dance competitions over the years, however my greatest joy came from teaching in my Mom’s classes passing on the beauty and magic of Irish dance.

I completed my Irish dance teaching qualification while studying for my under graduate and Master’s Degree in Commerce and went on to develop a successful corporate career over 15 years working as a management consultant at EY London.

It is natural and exciting for me to return to my heritage and happiest childhood memories setting up Celtic Star Irish Dance Academy to share in the pleasure that can be experienced through Irish dance.

    Testimonials

I remember Carol  teaching my daughter in her mothers classes 25 years ago and she was only 9 years of age herself! She was just such a talented champion Irish dancer but loved nothing more than spending time teaching other children (often older) how to do the complicated moves.

She always had a smile on her face and has definitely not only inherited the talent but natural teaching style of her mother and aunt, Ann & Evelyn, who run some of the biggest and most successful dance schools in Ireland.

    Past pupil parent Parent

It was clear from the first class Carol’s effortless ability to connect and put children at ease quickly get them integrated into the class and loving Irish dance. Isobel cannot wait for her class and seeing Miss Carol every week and significantly helped with her confidence levels within and outside the class.

Yes please do! You are very welcome to do this. Please call or email to book.

For your free trial lesson, if your child can please wear something comfortable – eg. leggings/shorts and a t-shirt would be great. Bare feet or socks are fine.

No, uniform is not mandatory. Most children like to wear the uniform as they enjoy feeling part of a group and get excitement from dressing up for their dance class.

Uniform for Girls : Mint green leotard, mint green and lavender tutu skirt, poodle socks, black ballet shoes or Irish dance pumps, white tights.

Uniform for Boys: Celtic Star t-shirt, mint green shorts, poodle socks, black ballet shoes or Irish dance pumps.

Children can be intimidated with lots of parents in the class so we ask that parents do not attend except Mummy and Me classes. Children will perform at the end of term show where parents can see their little ones Irish dance.
